Angelica Alexopoulos

Angelica graduated from the Utica Academy for International Studies in 2018. She currently is a junior at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She is a 4.0 student studying biology on the pre-medical track. She is an honors college student, anatomy teaching assistant and Vice president of the premedical society. Her special interests include figure skating and coaching younger skaters. She aspires to go to medical school to pursue her dream of becoming a physician.
Constantine Athanitis
Materials Science and Engineering,

Constantine is a rising senior at Stanford University majoring in Materials Science and Engineering. Additionally, he plans to receive a Master’s degree in Computer Science. He
has done research in hydrogen fuel and has a special interest in integrating artificial intelligence in the process of improving the
efficiencies of fuel and solar cells. He is a board member of Stanford’s Tau Beta Pi chapter.
Constantine is also very proud of his Greek heritage and loves traditional Greek dancing.
Flora Boardman
Political Science, Fordham University
Floriana Boardman is a Political Science major and Orthodox Christian Studies minor at Fordham University with a passion for foreign policy, journalism and religion. Floriana is the president of the Hellenic Society and Co-President of Orthodox Christian Fellowship. She has interned for 60 Minutes at CBS News, Congressman Gus Bilirakis, and the Greek Orthodox
Archdiocese United Nations Office. She also participated in the AHI Foreign Policy Trip in 2018 to Greece, Cyprus and Washington, D.C. Floriana’s ultimate goal is to become political correspondent on national news.
Marios Bourtzonis

Marios is a rising junior at Trinity College studying Economics and Computer Science while minoring in Models and Data. At Trinity,
he is involved in the Investment Club where he will be the upcoming President, he was the secretary for the Venture Capital Organization, and is a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi. Marios’ passion for understanding finance and
economics comes from a desire to better understand the Greek Financial Crisis and how to help Greece avoid future crises.
Kyriakos Chatzis

Kyriakos Chatzis is a rising junior at Stevens Institute of Technology, where he is majoring in Biology with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Kyriakos is also the founder of a non-profit organization dedicated to providing for underprivileged individuals and families. On top of numerous research positions in
Organic Chemistry and Biomedical Sciences, Kyriakos is an EMT at the Hoboken Volunteer
Ambulance Corps. Upon graduation, he hopes to pursue a career in medicine by attending
medical school and becoming a physician.
Nicholas Chatzitsakos

Nikos Chatzitsakos is a bassist, arranger, and composer, born in Athens, Greece. He began his undergraduate career in 2016, after auditioning for “Berklee College of Music.” Nikos resides in Boston, MA. He has performed with some of the most acclaimed jazz musicians such as Ralph Peterson, Frank Lacy and performed in some of the most prestigious venues such as Dizzy’s Club at Lincoln Center, the DC Jazz Festival, and Scullers.
George Dalianis

George is a rising sophomore at Harvard University studying government and economics.
He is the Interviews Editor of the Harvard Political Review, a staff writer for the Harvard College
Law Review, and a proud member of the Harvard College Hellenic Society. An accomplished pianist of 15 years, George was named a 2019 National YoungArts Foundation Winner in Classical Music and was featured on National Public
Radio’s From the Top. After college, he hopes to pursue a career in law or government.
Katerina Dorian

Katerina has just completed her sophomore year at the University of Virginia where she is majoring in Foreign Affairs and Global Studies:
Security and Justice. She has consistently made the Dean’s List each semester and will receive Intermediate Honors. Among other things, her love of Greek culture has compelled her to participate in a competitive dance troupe for
nine years as well as become the Secretary of her university’s Hellenic Society.
Christo Fosse

Christo Fosse is a rising junior at Xavier University in Cincinnati, majoring in the Philosophy, Politics and The Public (PPP) Honors Program, as well as Economics. While at Xavier, he has earned Dean’s List Honors each semester, led service trips, and worked on several political campaigns. This year, he will collaborate with faculty to develop power and gender-based violence prevention education. Christo’s future plans include attending law school and eventually serving as a federal prosecutor.

and American Express and is applying to roles in Management Consulting to bridge the cultural divide that corporations face
during international expansion. Beyond the classroom, Peter loves to cook and run, running his fourth half marathon this October.
Vassi Gianitsos

Vassi is a Computer Science major and minoring in Business at the University of Texas at Austin. She is a Presidential Scholar, a
University Honors student, and the president of UT’s OCF chapter. Vassi volunteers for
Austin’s SAFE Alliance, a shelter for victims of domestic violence, and VITA, a tax preparation
service for low-income clients. This summer she will intern as a software engineer intern for ExxonMobil. Vassi plans on pursuing a career in software development and law.

List. He moved to the United States in 2016 from Greece as a high school sophomore and graduated high school with honors. At Rowan, he is acting Promotions Manager on the Cinema Workshop E-board. He aspires to work in the Entertainment industry as a Film/

held a summer research internship at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Upon graduation, she plans to fulfill her dream to pursue a career in medicine.

Dimitrios Kyridis

Dimitrios Kyridis is a student-athlete in Barton College, majoring in Organismal Biology
and playing volleyball. Dimitrios moved to the United States in 2017 to study and achieve his
dream of higher education. Since then, he has been excelling both in the classroom and outside,
achieving the highest honors academically in his school, joining the President’s list multiple times, as well as winning the Conference
Championship with his team in 2019.
Sophia Kyrou

Sophia Kyrou is a rising senior at Trinity College, double-majoring in Political Science and Human Rights. A Faculty Honors student and an 1823 Scholar, Sophia was acknowledged by Trinity’s Dean of Student Success as an emerging leader, invited to serve on Trinity’s Scholars Advisory Board and selected for Trinity’s Catalyst Leadership Program. Sophia hopes to pursue a dual MBA-JD degree towards a career in social impact investing. A tonsured Byzantine chanter, Sophia is fluent in Greek, Italian, and French.

Eleftheria, from Boston, Massachusetts, is a rising sophomore at Harvard College where she is studying engineering. In the future she plans on receiving a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and getting licensed as a professional Engineer. In her spare time she has enjoyed being active in the Greek community in Boston, mentoring students from her high school, conducting research at a Boston based tech company, and volunteering at the Joslin Diabetes Center.

Maria Lysandrou is a rising senior at the University of Chicago majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. She is President of UChicago’s Hellenic Student Association, Recruitment Director for the National Hellenic Student Association, a Coca-Cola Scholar, and was a summer research
scholar in Computational Biology at the Broad Institute of MIT, Harvard and at Weill Cornell
Medical School. She plans to pursue a career in medicine and research.

his career as a public accountant where he will use his technological background to help

Joanna Maniadaki

Joanna Maniadaki is a rising sophomore at Oakland University studying Clinical Diagnostic Sciences. Joanna is an AP Scholar with Distinction and entered university with 32 AP credits. At Oakland she was inducted into the Honors College, she is a member of the Hellenic Student Association, the Pre-Medical society, Emerging Leaders, and many other organizations. Next semester, she will begin researching why autistic children are more prone to seizures. Joanna is involved in her local Greek community, teaching Greek School and volunteering with her local Philoptochos and Daughters of Penelope.
Panagiota Megagiannis

Panagiota is a senior at Long Island University– Post, NY. She is majoring in Biology–premed and wants to pursue a career in research and medicine. She has interned for the NASA/CaSGC microcomputer and robotics internship. She was awarded the University’s Presidential Honors Scholarship and is on Dean’s List. Panagiota was also awarded membership in the ΒΒΒ biology honors society. Her favorite interests are track and field, rugby, Greek dancing, and playing the piano.

Katerina Papanikolopoulos

Katerina Papanikolopoulos is a junior at UCLA studying Art History. Using modes of performance and a documentary ethic of photography and film, she examines the role of subconscious inherited memory and the effect it bears on identity. Her research in the Benaki Museum solidified her philosophy by exposing the role of Bridal Costumes from Attica as transcultural vessels of sociopolitical change. This summer she will advance her curatorial studies and collaborations with Greek and Cypriot designers through Copenhagen-based Adorno Studios.

Mauretta attends The Ohio State University in pursuit of a Marketing major with minors in both Photography and Modern Greek Language. This past year Mauretta was selected to be on the executive committee of OCF College Conference, an executive board member of Sigma Epsilon Phi, and a recipient of the Dean’s Award. Mauretta first and foremost
considers herself a Greek businesswoman. She dreams to own her own makeup or fashion
business.

Hellenic Student Organization, Delta Phi Epsilon and Secretary of the Karpathian Youth Organization. Evangelia has a passion for dentistry, volunteering and interning at multiple practices both here and in Greece. She
enjoys volunteering at the Special Olympics of NJ and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In the future, Evangelia hopes to give a TED Talk within her healthcare specialty.

Alexa Vaghenas is a senior at Yale University, originally from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. She studies Psychology and is a member of the Education Studies Scholar program, an application-based cohort which studies theintersection of education practice, policy and research. Inspired by working as a peer wellness liaison on campus, she hopes to pursue a career in wellness education and change the world using principles of positive psychology, the science of well-being.

He serves as Treasurer for Harvard’s Hellenic Society, leads a policy writing team, and directs a nonprofit mentorship program within the Greater Boston area. Additionally, he conducts research at the Harvard Kennedy School on US political protests. He is fascinated by international security studies and ultimately hopes to contribute to US foreign policy. He has been recognized by AHEPA, by the Archdiocese of America, and as a National Merit Scholar.

Yiannis Vandris is a rising senior majoring in Political Science and minoring in Business Management and Hellenic Studies at Columbia University. Yiannis has served as a Congressional intern, worked with the Permanent Mission of Cyprus to the United Nations, and interned with UNICEF’s Corporate Partnerships division. This summer, he will be taking on the role of Policy Intern at Cornerstone Government Affairs in Washington, DC. At Columbia, Yiannis serves as president of the school’s rugby team, and is on the Dean’s List.

Dionisia is a rising junior at Butler University– Indianapolis in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. She is involved in various organizations on campus that are focused on volunteering and fundraising for women’s cardiac care, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as well as Special Olympics. She is on the Dean’s List, and will receive her white coat in the fall. She hopes to work in a pediatric oncology and hematology unit in the future, as she possesses a great passion for children and helping others.
