Dimitris Anastopoulos

Dimitris is a Junior at Valparaiso University, pursuing a degree in Finance and a minor in Ancient Greek and Roman Studies. He is a member of the Honors College, has received Dean’s List recognition, and is a Kemper Foundation Scholar. Dimitris serves on the Residential Life Judicial Board, the University Campus Board, and the Honor Council. Dimitris one day hopes to be a financial consultant and wealth manager for nonprofit organizations.
Pari Apostolakos
Journalism,University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Pari Apostolakos graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in journalism and a minor in Spanish. She was a Roger Ebert Fellow, and appeared as an on-air reporter and anchor for UI7 Live and Good Morning Illini. She was Managing Editor for Reporting at The Daily Illini. She has been a communication intern for InRageEntertainment in Los Angeles, California and is now social media director for the nationally syndicated Whitney Reynolds Show based in Chicago.
Mina Baniewicz
English, Saint Xavier University
Mina is a rising junior at Saint Xavier University in Chicago and is majoring in English Rhetoric
& Writing while minoring in Communications. She is also a part of the university’s pre-law
program and intends to pursue a career in law. She has earned a Dean’s List distinction every
semester thus far by maintaining her 4.0 GPA. This year she worked as a Learning Assistant to
professors for English classes. She is a student athlete that runs Cross Country and Track.
Christina Bourantas
Physics & Kinesiology, DePauw University
Christina, a rising senior at DePauw University, studies Physics and Kinesiology, in hopes
of obtaining a PhD in Biomechanics. She is a member of DePauw’s Science Research Fellows, where she is passionate about STEM research. Christina is a campus leader as she is
the president of the Panhellenic Association, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and
Orthodox Christian Fellowship and is involved in Student Government and the Society of Physics Students. She is on the Dean’s List, plays Varsity Field Hockey, and enjoys volunteering and mission work.
Julianna Conley

Julianna Conley is a junior at the University of Notre Dame. Originally from Southern California, she is studying Sociology, with a supplementary
major in Pre-Health Studies and a minor in Journalism, Ethics and Democracy. On campus, Julianna is involved with the student
newspaper The Observer as an opinion columnist and podcast co-host. She also works as an
ambassador for the University’s engagement center ND Listens and acts as her dorm’s Vice
President. After graduation, Julianna hopes to work in journalism.

Anna is a rising junior at the University of Texas at Austin studying nursing. She participates
in UT’s Nursing Student Association and is a member of the Nursing Christian Fellowship. After becoming a registered nurse, Anna aspires to pursue a masters of science in nursing in preparation for becoming a family nurse practitioner. She also dreams of volunteering in the peace corps and doctors and nurses without borders. In her free time, she enjoys writing poems, painting, and playing basketball.
Fany-Maria Diamantopoulos

Fay is an Advertising and Public Relations major at the City College of New York. She is a 4.0 student, digital/PR intern, and a part-time English tutor at Westchester Library in New York. This summer, Fay will be taking on the role of policy intern at The Alliance for Child Protection to work on policies that will make digital learning more effective. Fay aspires to pursue a Master’s in Government Affairs to transform
education and make it accessible for first-generation university students.
Sofia Foondos

Sofia Foondos, from Sacramento, CA, is a junior majoring in Biology at UCLA. She is currently
pursuing a Hellenic Studies minor and is on the pre-medical track to obtain a Medical Degree. She is a board member on the American
Medical Student Association, the Student Leader Advocates for Music Organization, and the Hellenic Student Association at UCLA. She also works as an undergraduate researcher in
Shah Labs, where she investigates the mechanisms
that shape neuronal circuits during brain development.
Nicoletta Gasparis

Nicoletta is a rising senior at Stony Brook University, double-majoring in English/Spanish. She is a 4.0, Dean’s List student with membership in University Scholars, Sigma Beta Honor
Society, and National Society of Leadership and Success. She is president of SB Greek-Cypriot
Student Association and volunteers with Andros Society, USA locally and overseas. She
has interned with District Attorney Madeline Singas and plans to pursue a career in law. She is also passionate about Greek dancing, playing instruments, and singing.
Alina Giapis

Alina is a rising senior at UCLA majoring in Human Biology and Society and minoring in
Anthropology. She studies Modern Greek, and recently received a scholarship for her dedication
to the language. Alina is a passionate member of Camp Kesem, the UCLA Student
Committee for the Arts, and Eurobruins, an organization that fosters community among
international students on campus. Last winter, she joined her professor’s laboratory team and
looks forward to conducting anthropological research about evolutionary human behavior in a post-pandemic world.
Peter Gordan

Peter is a rising sophomore at Columbia University in NYC studying Economics and Sustainable Development. He is a Dean’s List scholar, intern for two sustainability companies,
member of Columbia’s Student-Alumni Association, and founder of the environmental nonprofit Homes4Monarchs. Peter aspires
to pursue a career in sustainability consulting or impact investing, specifically targeting waste and environmental protection in CPG
and energy supply chains. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, listening to podcasts, traveling,
and spending time with family.
Luke Haight

Luke Haight is a rising junior at Michigan State University studying saxophone under
world-renowned saxophonist: Joseph Lulloff. In addition to music, Luke is earning a second
degree in Arts & Cultural Management within the College of Arts & Letters. He is currently
the alto chair within his undergraduate saxophone
quartet, PULSE, and has placed as a finalist in national saxophone competitions. Additionally, Luke plans on working within the music and entertainment industry upon
graduation, where he is currently interning for the modern country artist: Steven Cade.

LanaJames is a rising junior at Barnard College pursuing Educational Studies with a minor in Race & Ethnicity. Originally from Durham, North Carolina, she is passionate about engaging in

She is the Director of Activism for Columbia’s Public Health Club and aims to advocate for the creation of inclusive sexuality education policy and curricula. More than anything, Lana loves making music, Greek food, and spending time with loved ones.

and engineering. While on campus, Niko is involved
as the president of American Institute of Chemical Engineers and an active member of Phi Kappa Psi. He has previously worked at Johnson & Johnson and looks forward to interning
at Nike in the summer of 2021. Niko hopes to pursue work in research & development
for consumer goods. In Niko’s free time, he is an avid distance runner and likes to cook.

Arianna is a rising senior at Cornell University studying Applied Economics & Management and Information Science with concentrations

run consulting agency, a member of the Hellenic Association, Panhellenic Delegate, and a research assistant in the Collaborative Technology Lab. Arianna will be working at
McKinsey & Co as a business analyst after graduation. She plans to attend law school and pursue a career in public health after consulting.
Alexander Kontoyiannis

Alex is a sophomore at Harvard College studying economics on a pre-medical track. After he graduates, he intends to pursue a MD-MBA dual program to become a practicing physician
and also lead efforts in healthcare-related business and hospital administration. On campus, he is the President of the Harvard College Hellenic Society and the Vice President of the
Harvard College Healthcare Associates. Alex has also been recognized by AHEPA and is
a National AP Scholar and a National Merit Commended Scholar.

Dimitrios Kosmakos is an honors student at Georgia Institute of Technology where he is pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Dimitrios has had internships with the United States Navy and Cisco Systems. He is also an active member of his Greek community on and off campus as a member of the Sons of Pericles, the Georgia Tech Hellenic Society, and at Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church. He aspires to use his technical background
and passion for giving back to coordinate communal efforts with the Hellenic society.

Vasilios Stephanos Kosmakos is from Treasure Island, Florida and is a rising senior at the University
of Florida. Vasilios is double majoring in Sustainability Studies and International Studies and double minoring in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation and Anthropology. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, he
plans on enrolling in the peace corps. After, he plans to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Sustainable Development. In his spare time he likes to fossil hunt and star gaze.
Emilia Kyriazis

Emilia is a rising senior at The University of Texas at Austin with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Business. She is a research assistant for a Greek English Bilingual Fluency project, a founding ambassador for PILAGlobal, a member of the UT Greek and Cypriot Society and a summer intern for the Texas State Capitol. Emilia has a passion for communication and mental health advocacy and aspires to be a lawyer for mental health parity. Beyond her workspace, Emilia enjoys traditional Greek folk dancing with her peers.

Demetri Maxim

Demetri is a senior at Stanford University majoring in Biology with a minor in German Studies. He is the captain of the Stanford Varsity
Alpine Ski Team and is also involved with the Biomedical Engineering Society and the Orthodox Christian Fellowship. Demetri plans to apply to MD/PhD programs to pursue a career
as a physician-scientist in kidney medicine, splitting his time between treating kidney patients
and developing new treatments. Outside of school, Demetri loves cycling, cooking, and whitewater rafting.
Izaki Metropoulos

Izaki Metropoulos is a rising senior at Williams College studying Comparative Literature. After dropping out of high school, Izaki graduated from Wilbur Wright Community College,
published literary criticism, and ran the only academic literary journal for community college
students in the country. Likewise, Izaki has served as the Orpheus Hellenic Folklore Society’s music director and continues to perform Greek traditional music nationally. Beyond Williams, Izaki will pursue a career in Education Policy, expanding educational access to the adult learner population.

and plans to graduate his senior year with his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. Evan aspires
to combine his public health and medical expertise as a physician to improve our healthcare system.

Most recently, she has been working to develop her e-commerce startup and won an award from the Olin Business School recognizing her idea. She aspires to be an entrepreneur and start her own business.

Sophia Pandelidis is a senior at Boston College who hopes to expand beyond her International
Studies major and possibly chart a non-traditional path to medicine. She grew up in Sharon, MA and was taught from a young age
by her Thessaloniki-born father to value her Greek heritage. On campus she is in the Boston
College Acoustics A Cappella group and Boston College Chorale. In her free time, she
enjoys singing, taking long walks in her neighborhood, making art, and cooking.
Yanni Patitsas

Yanni is a rising junior and a Modern Greek Major at The Ohio State University. His hobbies
include soccer, playing the guitar, and spending time with friends and family. He is the VP of Hellenism of Sigma Epsilon Phi, as well as the Secretary of Orthodox Christian Fellowship at OSU. After graduation, Yanni
plans on attending law school to fulfill his dream of running a law firm connected to Greece that helps all Greek Americans maintain ties to their ancestral homeland.

Chapter in Denver. He’s actively pursuing a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering at CU and aspires to advance space exploration. In his free time, he enjoys camping and playing

She has leadership positions with Drexel’s affiliated NAMI Chapter and Peer Counseling Helpline, honors music fraternity Pi Nu Epsilon, and the Drexel/University of Pennsylvania OCF Chapter. Domenica participated in the Macy Undergraduate Leadership Fellows Program and a week-long study abroad program in Singapore to learn about psychiatric rehabilitation. She enjoys volunteering in her school and home communities.

Born and raised in Greece, he came to America to excel in soccer and academics by achieving a Doctorate. In the future, Demetrios hopes to pursue

at Mount Sinai to become a physician-leader, aspiring to promote Hellenism, advance
research, and provide culturally-competent care to patients. She enjoys visiting museums,
painting, and exploring NYC.
Panayiotis Tsiampas

Panayiotis is a rising senior at Loyola University Chicago majoring in Biology. He is a Dean’s List scholar, participates in Loyola’s American Medical Students Association, Orthodox
Christian Fellowship, and Hellenic Student Association.
He is a research assistant at the University of Illinois Chicago laboratory for transplant and regenerative medicine. Panayiotis has received Loyola’s Presidential Scholarship, FAITH Endowment Scholarship, and AHEPA District 13 Scholarship. Panayiotis aspires to

Zoe Vassiliou

Zoe Vassiliou is a photographer who has won several awards including numerous Scholastic
Gold Keys for Photography and one National Gold Medal for Film. She was selected as a
2020 Young Arts Finalist in Photography. She has worked as a darkroom monitor, a teacher’s
assistant, a student gallery curator, and an intern for a mural project in NYC. She is currently
pursuing a degree in Art at Cornell University, with a minor in Film. She hopes to continue
growing and exhibiting her art, and to excel in the film and television industry.

She was born and raised in Canton, Ohio, with Hellenic roots based in Chios and Nafpaktos. As the Director of Marketing for the National Hellenic Student Association, Anastasia has integrated her marketing expertise with her desire to promote Hellenism. In her free time, Anastasia is found surrounded by friends and family, traveling to the homeland, or sipping on a frappe.
Ioannis Ypsilantis

Ioannis Ypsilantis is a rising Sophomore at Stevens Institute of Technology. He is currently
pursuing a minor in quantitative finance, as well as a major in Computer Science. He plans
to earn a master’s focusing on Cybersecurity in his fifth year. While in high school, he earned
the president’s award, he was an AP scholar with distinction and participated in sports
year-round. He preformed with the school orchestra and volunteered his time throughout
the community.
