Job Description & Requirements

The Panhellenic Internship Initiative aims to help students in our network (Alumni and Panhellenic Young Leaders) find internship opportunities. If interested in finding an internship/role through our internship partner companies, students are required to book a1:1 appointment with the Director of Internships.

Overview:


The accounting intern will gain experience and learn essential industry skills by assisting our team with accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, and other projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.

  • Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.

  • Preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents.

  • Working with bookkeeping software.

  • Respond to firm associate requests promptly, accurately, positively, and professionally.

  • Learning how to work as part of the accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or clients.

  • Proactively identify improvement opportunities in processes to enhance efficiency.

  • Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.

  • Collects and copy financial data as requested.

  • Creates and prepares various financial support schedules.

  • Generates financial reports in SAP or other accounting systems.

  • Performs filing as needed of various financial documents.

  • *Other duties as assigned*


Requirements:

  • A GPA of 3.0 or above.

  • Must be a recent graduate or actively working towards a Bachelor’s or master’s in accounting.

  • Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility.

  • Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers.

  • Motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.


Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.


Salary:


$17-$19/hr
